The Office of the Budget Director provides support to Councilmembers and their staff on matters related to the District’s budget, finances, and economy. The Office also offers policy research and economic analysis to individual members or the Council as a whole.
The Office is responsible for advising Councilmembers on the District’s budget, including the review, markup, enactment, and oversight of the annual operating budget and capital improvement plan. The Office also drafts fiscal impact statements for emergency legislation and amendments, and tracks legislation passed subject to appropriation.
